  6. This is the third revision of BBEdit, a free text editor. This revision fixes
  7. a few bugs and incompatibilities that surfaced in BBEdit 2.1, the first public
  8. release, and in 2.1.1, the first revision. The version enclosed is version 2.1.3,
  9. which completely supersedes any previous version.

  11. BBEdit is 32-bit clean, compatible with any Macintosh running system version
  12. 6.0 or later, and when running under System 7.0, takes specific advantage
  13. of new features to enhance performance and appearance.

  15. BBEdit is also very economical with respect to disk and memory usage; it will
  16. run in a partition as small as 256K. The size of any file is only limited
  17. by the amount of memory available in BBEdit's partition; there is no 32K
  18. upper bound.

  20. BBEdit offers fast and flexible multi-file search and replace capabilities;
  21. under System 7, it can also use On Location 2.0 as a searching engine. Grep
  22. pattern-matching is available for single- or multi-file searches.

  24. BBEdit may be freely distributed, subject to the conditions specified in
  25. the "Read Me" file, which is part of the distribution archive.
